I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 25 years of clinical experience, and I serve as a Clinical Supervisor at Embracing Joy Psychotherapy.

Throughout my career, I have developed extensive experience supporting individuals, couples, and families navigating complex relational and emotional challenges.

As an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, I provide mentorship, clinical consultation, and professional development to the therapists at Embracing Joy Psychotherapy. My background in premarital and marital counseling, as well as in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and anger management, allows me to offer thoughtful, experience-based guidance that supports high-quality, ethical care.

My guiding philosophy centers on connection—both relational connection and connection within oneself. Through supervision, I support therapists in expanding their clinical insight, confidence, and capacity to hold the complexity of their clients’ experiences with compassion, courage, and curiosity. It is an honor to contribute to the strength and integrity of the care provided at Embracing Joy Psychotherapy.

Integrative approach

Guidance rooted in experience

My approach is integrative and grounded in evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), the Gottman Method, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). In my supervisory role, I help clinicians thoughtfully apply these approaches in ways that are responsive to each client’s unique needs.

At Embracing Joy Psychotherapy, I’m honored to be part of a community that supports clients in building healthier relationships - with themselves and with those they love. - Brenda
