During one of my favorite yoga classes, I was reminded of the meaning of the Holiday Season. With all the gift buying and preparing to see family, we often forget that this holiday is not all about attaining more ‘stuff’. What if we were able to ‘shed’ during the holiday? To be able to come back to ourselves? In such a potentially hectic time, can we remember that what we already need is what we already have inside of us?
I invite you to a simple practice this holiday season – coming back to yourself. Can you take a few minutes a day to remind yourself that you have everything you need? It’s so easy to get caught up in buying the perfect gift or trying to cram too much into too little time; we try to get too much done. The challenge is to slow down. To take inventory with how we are doing in our body, our mind, and our spirit. Can we slow down a bit during this holiday season and remember that we have everything we already need?
I invite you to shed during this holiday season. The odds are, we don’t need anymore ‘stuff’.
